Kohjinsha DZ-series using a pair of two 10.1-inch TFT display panels with a resolution of up to 1024×600 pixels each. The displays have a nice sliding mechanism which allows the users to easily take out a screen which rests underneath another screen. This way a user can easily use either one screen or two screens. Moreover, the base of these screens has a swivel mechanism which allows the users to twist the screens. This device will be powered by an AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 processor with a clocking speed of 1.6GHz with RS780MN chipset and ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, and 160GB 5,4000 RPM hard disk.
Its weight 1.48kg comes with a 6-cell battery (5200mAh, 11.1V) which should give about 4.5 hrs of life – as claimed by the company. Kohjinsha also throws in 3x USB, a 3-in-1 card reader, 1.3MP Webcam, Gigabit LAN, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Fingerprint scanner resides on the right screen bezel area and built-in 1-Seg TV Tuner with antenna.
The Kohzinsha DZ will retail at 95,800 yen (US $1,110) with a Linux pre-load — add another ¥5,000 (about $58) for 32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, although the price might drop once it is launched in US.
