System 76 Gazelle and Serval Sandy Bridge-based Laptop with Ubuntu

System 76 has announced the Gazelle Professional and Serval Professional laptops with the 2nd Generation Intel Core “Sandy Bridge” processors.

The Gazelle Professional feature up to Intel Core i7-2820QM Processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M graphics, while the Serval Professional boast up to Intel Core i7-2920XM Processor Extreme Edition and Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M or GTX 485M graphics.

Both models pack up 16GB of DDR3 memory, up to 750GB HDD or 160GB SSD, a 15.6-inch Full HD LED display with Super Glossy Surface (1920 x 1080), DVD burner, 802.11A/B/G/N WiFi, Serval Pro Li-Polymer battery pack and runs Ubuntu 10.10 OS.

Other options include Fingerprint Reader, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, an eSata/USB 2.0 port, a 5-in-1 card reader, HDMI and DVI outs, and a 2.0 MP webcam.

The Gazelle Professional start at $1,239.00, while the Serval Professional start at $1,379.00.
