The new HP Compaq Mini 110c looks exquisitely simple

HP-Compaq-Mini-110c

After the success of 2133, 1100 and 700, the 110c seems to get the facts straight rather than going haywire with loads of one aspect, none noticeable in the other. Folks at trustedreviews got their hands on a piece and they find out that while it might look similar to the Compaq Mini 700, closer inspection reveals plenty of differences. The 110c is chunkier and houses a proper VGA output instead of the mini variety from before. The materials feel netbook-type, with a coarser matte black plastic finish and no ‘frameless’ display. A good thing is that although the matte-finish body will keep off the regular grease and grime. The 92% keyboard is stretched to both the ends which make it quite comfortable to type on. The trackpad is situated below the keyboard in a typical HP style where the mouse-buttons are situated on the side of the pad and not below it. It sports a 10” screen with a resolution of 1,024 x 576 pixels and has an anti-glare finish, making it optimal for outdoor uses.

On the inside, the 110c is nothing special. It is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive – the standard netbook configuration in tune with Intel. You also get 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a webcam.

The prices for the 110c start at £249 ($411) including the 3-cell battery, with the 6-cell version costing an additional bur reasonable 30 pounds.

While the good things with 110c is its greatly placed keyboard and a very reasonable price, it certainly won’t revolutionaries the market.
